The last time the Phoenix Suns played the Washington Wizards was back in late January when the Wizards were able to come away with a 101-95 road win. The Suns were coming off of a big 124-100 win over the Eastern Conference leading Indiana Pacers, but John Wall and the Wizards were able to stop their momentum and got themselves to a .500 record on the season.

The game was a very tightly contested affair until the Wizards got hot on offense and stingy on defense in the third quarter. They outscored the Suns 31-19 in the period, including a 17-4 run that shifted the momentum their way. The run gave them a 6 point lead going into the fourth quarter. Second-year guard Bradley Beal had one of his most clutch quarters of the season in the fourth, sinking a three-pointer with about two minutes left in the game, then giving the Wiz a 99-95 lead with a medium-range jumper. He capped off his performance with a breakaway dunk to end the game.

All five of the Wizards' starters scored in double figures, including a double-double from Wall (18 points, 12 assists) and 23 points from Trevor Ariza. Goran Dragic was Phoenix's best player in the game with 19 points and 11 assists. Channing Frye, Miles Plumlee and Markieff Morris also ended up in double figures for the Suns.
