The Suns are hot lately and their strong play has allowed them to overtake Dallas for the 8th spot in the Western Conference playoffs. They look to continue streaking upwards against the down and out Lakers on Sunday. Phoenix put together a 5-game win streak against teams they were supposed to beat. The Suns have been favored in 4 of their last 5 and have covered the number in all but one. That impressive play has been part of a larger 7 of 10 winning streak which features top-notch play on the road. The Suns have gone 5-2 in their last 7 road games largely in part to the emergence of G Eric Bledsoe who has scored 20+ points in four straight contests.

The Lakers have been an enigma for much of the season but their play lately is hard to predict. For instance on Tuesday the Lakers delivered a 31-point beating to the surging Knicks who were fighting for a playoff spot. Two days later Los Angeles drops a 3-point game to the worst team in the league, Milwaukee. L.A. has only been favored one time in their last 10 and has seen 6 spreads in double figures yet still only managed a 4-6 record ATS.

It was an offensive explosion the last time Phoenix and Los Angeles met up on January 15th. The Suns were -3.5 favorites at the U.S. Airways Center and had 3 players score 20+ points to get a 121-114 victory and topple the 214 total.
