Friday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will travel to the Barclays Center to face the Brooklyn Nets.

The Philadelphia 76ers dropped yet another one Wednesday night as they fell to the Atlanta Hawks 95 – 79.  As the Hawks were struggling with their shooting, the Sixers couldn’t find a way to take advantage.  Although the Hawks never trailed, the Sixers couldn’t close the small gap between the two teams.  One reason was the 18 turnovers that the Sixers committed. No matter how poorly the opposition plays, if you give them 18 extra possessions, they will capitalize.   No one really knows if the Sixers are tanking games or not, so it’s tough to speculate whether a better effort on Friday will result in a win over Brooklyn.

The Brooklyn Nets lost their 3rd straight on Wednesday night as they were blown out by the Chicago Bulls 105 – 80.  The Nets actually led by 5 after the opening quarter but that lead was short-lived as the Bulls erased it by halftime to make it a tie game.  In the 3rd quarter, the Bulls pulled away and left the Nets in the dust.  Chicago basically outscored, outhustled, outrebounded and outplayed Brooklyn. The Nets have been hit hard by the injury bug but that shouldn’t hamper them against the Sixers.  If they can start strong and keep up the intensity level for the entire game, they should be able to end their losing streak.
