Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will travel to the Phillips Arena to take on the Atlanta Hawks.

The Philadelphia 76ers picked up just their 2nd win of the season on Saturday night as they beat the Detroit Pistons 108 – 101 in overtime.  It was the 2nd win in three games for the team that opened the year with 17 straight losses.  Detroit hasn’t played that great this season either and it seemed like this game would come down to the team that wanted to win just a little more than they wanted to lose.  The 76ers appear to be on a mission to tank another season to improve their draft position but at times, they have shown some flashes of brilliance. The Hawks would be tough competition for a team that wanted to win, so it will be interesting to see what type of effort Philadelphia brings to Atlanta as they make the 2nd stop on a 3 game road trip. 

The Atlanta Hawks had virtually no trouble dispatching the Indiana Pacers on Monday night by the score of 108 - 92. The win was the 7th straight for a surging Hawks team that has been getting it done on both ends of the floor.  Their offense was solid against the Pacers but it was their defense that helped key the win. The Hawks are keeping their opponents off the scoreboard with regularity and it shouldn’t be hard for them to keep the 76ers from getting the ball in the basket.   An 8th straight win could be in the cards for the Hawks when they take the floor on Wednesday night.
