Friday night, the Orlando Magic will visit the Atlanta Hawks. 

The Orlando Magic had their opportunities on Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards but they couldn’t put together all of the pieces and ended up with a 91 - 89 loss.   The Wizards were expected to run over the Magic but Orlando stayed with Washington in the 1st half and were down by just a point at halftime.  But in the 3rd quarter, the Magic pulled away and outscored the Wizards by 9 points.  Orlando had the lead in the waning seconds of the game but a furious Washington rally capped by a buzzer beating shot dealt the Magic a heartbreaking defeat.  The effort was there for Orlando and if they can put together the same type of effort on Friday, they might have a chance against Atlanta. 

The Atlanta Hawks will come into this one after beating the Philadelphia 76ers 95 – 89 on Wednesday night. The Hawks didn’t play their best but it was enough to earn them their 8th straight victory.  The Hawks have used their shooting to rise to the top of the Eastern Conference’s Southeast division but when their shooting disappeared on Wednesday, they used their defense to get past a Sixers team that is basically a laughingstock.  Atlanta should have no trouble getting past Orlando if their shooting returns but if it doesn’t, it’s good to see that the Hawks can pick up their effort on the other end of the floor.
