The Oklahoma City Thunder will be taking on the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday afternoon in a game between two of the better defensive teams in the Western Conference. During the 2013-14 season, the Thunder won all four of their games against the Spurs.

The Thunder lost their second game in a row on Tuesday night when the Portland Trail Blazers beat them 115-111 in overtime. The Thunder lost that game despite shooting better, having more rebounds and finishing with fewer turnovers than the Blazers.

Through 29 games this year, the Thunder have the top defense in the league by giving up just over 95 points per game. In his nine games played, All-Star Kevin Durant has scored 22.9 points per game while grabbing five rebounds per game.

The Spurs were able to snap their four-game losing streak on Monday night when they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 125-118 at home. They had one of their best shooting nights of the season in that one by making 63.6 percent of their shots.

Through 29 games, the Spurs have been able to average 102.9 points per game while giving up just 98.2 points per game. Power forward Tim Duncan has a solid 22.8 PER on the year by averaging 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. Small forward Kawhi Leonard has scored 15.2 points per game this season and also has a team-high two steals per game.
