Wednesday night, the New York Knicks will travel to the Palace of Auburn Hills to take on the Detroit Pistons.

The New York Knicks will come into this one after a Tuesday night meeting with the Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden.     The Knicks have started the season on the right foot under the direction of new head coach Derek Fisher and new team president Phil Jackson.  Fisher and Jackson are trying to bring the winning attitude that they experienced with the Los Angeles Lakers to the East Coast.  So far, Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks are buying into that philosophy.   Not only are the Knicks scoring points, they are locking down their opponents on the defensive end.   Against the struggling Detroit Pistons, the Knicks might not need the defensive effort that they have been displaying. 

The Detroit Pistons dropped their third straight in their Saturday night 102 -90 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Early into the new season, Detroit just can’t seem to find a way to win games.  One reason is that they are at the bottom of the NBA in points per game while near the top of the charts in point allowed. You just can’t continue to give up more than you score.   And the pistons are barely getting through to the end of games.  Fatigue shouldn’t be a problem this early into the season.  The Pistons are going to have a hard time stopping a Knicks team that seems to be enjoying a resurgence already into the season.
