The New York Knicks travel to Cleveland to challenge the Cavaliers for a victory. Carmelo Anthony, of the Knicks, faces strong individual completion in the first two games of the season. Last night Anthony went head to head with Derek Rose and the Chicago Bulls, and with no rest he faces Lebron James tonight. It is a good test for Anthony who is learning the triangle-offense implemented by new Team President Phil Jackson and new Head Coach Derek Fisher. Fisher ran the system for years with Jackson as his head coach. Fisher says the system is perfect for utilizing everybody’s talents and taking some scoring pressure off of Anthony. This Knicks team is more than likely not championship bound, coming off a losing season and going through some roster developments this year. Carmelo Anthony is an isolation specialist, which is contrary to the triangle offense. At age 30, Anthony would be wise to develop his team base offensive skills. He needs team support to make a playoff run before his age retracts his All-Star status.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be looking to make a statement in this season opener against the Knicks. After a stint at the Miami Heat, Lebron has return to his hometown and original NBA team. He is a much more developed Superstar than when he last wore a Cavaliers jersey. The talk surrounding the Knicks has been about their new offensive system. Expect Lebron James and the Cavaliers to test the Knicks defense. Fans should not be surprised if after this game the buzz about the Knicks has shifted to the other end of the court.
