Friday night, the New York Knicks will face the Boston Celtics.

The New York Knicks dropped their 10th straight game on Wednesday night as they fell to the San Antonio Spurs on the 2nd stop of a 3 game road trip.  In reality, the Knicks should have had a better than even chance against the Spurs as San Antonio was missing their “Big Three” of Duncan, Parker and Ginobili.   But the Knicks just couldn’t take advantage of an awesome opportunity to end their losing streak even though they were without Carmelo Anthony, who sat because of left knee soreness.   While the game was close throughout, the Knicks never were able to get over the hump.  Given the recent rumors of discord in the organization, it looks like the Knicks will have to fix their internal problems before they can focus on the task of winning basketball games.

The Boston Celtics looked like another franchise that was a shell of its former self as they fell to the Charlotte Hornets 96 - 87 on Wednesday night.  The Celtics let the Hornets take control in the 1st quarter before they roared back in the 2nd quarter.  Boston outscored Charlotte by 11 points to take a 5 point lead at the half. Charlotte would outscore the Celtics in the final 2 quarters to seal the victory. The Celtics couldn’t defeat a team that is basically as bad as they are and one has to wonder, how they will do against a New York team that is worse off than them.
