The New Orleans Pelicans will head out on the road and take on their Western Conference foe San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. New Orleans is 2-2 on the season following their 100-91 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night. For San Antonio, they come in with a 2-2 record following their 98-81 loss at the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. The Spurs also have a road loss at Phoenix this season, with home wins over Dallas and Atlanta.

The San Antonio Spurs beat Atlanta on Wednesday behind 17 points and 13 rebounds from veteran Tim Duncan. Tony Parker, the team’s point guard added 7 assists in the game. Then, on Thursday, San Antonio outscored the Houston Rockets 26-17 in the fourth quarter, but still was not enough. The Spurs used 18 points off the bench from Corey Joseph in the loss. San Antonio is led by Parker’s 19.7 points per game.

For the New Orleans Pelicans, most hear about the play of big man Anthony Davis, but other guys have chipped in considerably thus far. The Pelicans are using Davis’ 13.3 rebounds per game, but also getting 11.3 from Omer Asik to lead the NBA in rebounds. The Pelicans second leading scorer has been Tyreke Evans, as he is scoring 17.3 per game. In the 100-91 win over Charlotte on Tuesday, Jrue Holliday, Ryan Anderson and Tyreke Evans all scored 16, which came in behind Davis’ 24. The Pelicans had a sixth player in double figures, as rookie Austin Rivers added 12.
