The New Orleans Pelicans will be going for their third win in a row on Monday night when they go up against the Portland Trail Blazers. Last season, the Blazers were able to win two out of their three games against the Pelicans.

The Pelicans broke their franchise record in points on Friday night when they routed the Minnesota Timberwolves 139-91 at home. In that blowout win, they made 15 of their 20 three-point attempts and finished with a 66.7 field goal percentage.

The Pelicans are in the top five in the NBA in scoring right now with 105.6 points per game, and they are also a solid rebounding team with 44.1 rebounds per game. Third-year big man Anthony Davis has been great through eight games, averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game. Small forward Tyreke Evans is the team leader in assists with 7.1 helpers per game.

The Blazers have now won four games in a row after defeating the Brooklyn Nets 97-87 on Saturday night. They made 11 of their 26 three-pointers in that win and they finished with a 47-43 rebounding advantage.

Through 10 games, the Blazers scoring 104.6 points per game while only giving up 96.2 points per game. All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge has once again been their top player by averaging 21.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
