Another mundane season is winding down for Minnesota while Dallas would love nothing better than to move up from the #7 spot in the West and avoid a first round matchup with Oklahoma City. The Mavericks currently trail Golden State by 1.5 games while awaiting two more matchups with the Thunder down the stretch. Dallas posted a respectable 6-4 win/loss ratio against the spread in a recent 10 game span but their home record of 15-16 ATS leaves something to be desired for their backers. The Mavericks are great at taking care of business against teams they're expected to beat, with 10 of their last 11 losses coming at the hands of teams headed to the playoffs. Wednesday night's home battle against the Timberwolves would fall under the category of one that Dallas could win.

Minnesota will miss the playoffs for the 10th straight year, a sad statistic based on the amount of talented draft picks that have come through during that time. The Timberwolves have actually been surging lately, going 7-4 over an 11 game stretch right out of the all-star break. It's most likely another case of too little too late as Minnesota trails Memphis by 6 games with 12 games left.

Dallas struggled but was still able to get an NBA road win in a December 30th matchup in Minnesota. The Mavericks were actually getting 4 points in their 100-98 outright victory. Kevin Love put the Timberwolves on his back with 36 points and 11 rebounds but Shawn Marion powered Dallas enough with 32 points.
