Wednesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves will take the floor at the Barclays Center to face the Brooklyn Nets.

The Minnesota Timberwolves should come into this one well rested since their last game was on Saturday night.  They got edged 106 – 105 by the Chicago Bulls in that one.  Against a Chicago Bulls team without Derrick Rose, the Timberwolves felt that they had a fighting chance and they played like a team trying to snatch a win over a better team.  Minnesota hung on for most of the game but a rookie mistake by Andrew Wiggins led to two key free throws for the Bulls and the eventual win.   Although they lost, the effort was just what Minnesota will need as they start an 18 day road trip in Brooklyn.   If they can play hard and smart, they should be able to steal a few road wins.

The Brooklyn Nets had no problem coming away with a win in their Monday night game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Brooklyn controlled their home opener from the opening tip and came away with a 116 – 85 win.  It didn’t take too much effort considering the fact that the Thunder were completely decimated by injuries.  But that doesn’t diminish the fact that the Nets got 18 points from Brook Lopez in his first game of the season after breaking his right foot last December.  The Nets also got solid contributions from Deron Williams and Alan Anderson.  If the Nets can jump out to a lead against the Timberwolves, they could be in line for another win.
