The San Antonio Spurs played well against the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals and finished strong down the stretch to win 110-95 and take a 1-0 lead in the series. The Spurs turned the ball over 22 times in the game, but they made up for it by making 58.8 percent of their field goals, including going 13-for-25 from three-point land.

The two teams played an evenly-matched game through the first two quarters, with San Antonio holding a slim five-point lead going into the half. Miami turned it on in the third quarter and led by four going into the final period, but the Spurs outscored them 36-17 the rest of the way to win by 15.

The Spurs were led by veteran shooting guard Manu Ginobili, who came off of the bench to score 16 points and assist on 11 other baskets. Tim Duncan made nine of his 10 field goal attempts to score 21 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds in the win. Point guard Tony Parker had 19 points and eight assists for the hosts.

LeBron James, who had to leave the game early with cramps, finished with a game-high 25 points for the Heat. Ray Allen came off of the bench for Miami to make three three-pointers and finished with 16 points and five steals. Chris Bosh had 18 points and nine rebounds in the losing effort.
