The Brooklyn Nets were able to hand the Miami Heat their first loss of the playoffs by beating them 104-90 in Game 3 of their series. The Heat, who were outrebounded 43-27 by the Nets in the game, are now up 2-1 in the series.
In a high-scoring first quarter, the two teams were separated by just one point going into the second, but the Nets buckled down on defense and went into the half up by two. New Jersey was able to take off in the third period by outscoring the Heat 26-14. Miami did their best to fight back in the game late, but they couldn't sustain any long scoring runs and ended up losing by 14 points.
Nets shooting guard Joe Johnson led the way for the home team by scoring 19 points. Andray Blatche came off of the bench to score 15 points and grab 10 boards in the win, and Deron Williams had 11 assists to go along with his nine points. Shaun Livingston added 12 points and five assists for the Nets.
LeBron James did his best to keep the Heat in the game all night and ended up scoring a game-high 28 points, grabbed eight rebounds and assisted on five other buckets. Dwyane Wade went 9-of-18 from the field on the night and ended up with 20 points and three steals.
