The Memphis Grizzlies got a big 109-99 win when they played the Portland Trail Blazers on March 11. The victory gave the Grizzlies a much higher chance of grabbing one of the final playoff positions in the Western Conference. The Blazers lost despite getting a great game out of point guard Damian Lillard.

The game started out very tight, but Memphis was able to take a seven point lead into the half in their first game of a three-game road trip. The Grizzlies extended their lead to 10 early on in the fourth quarter and only allowed the Blazers to get it under double digits one time from there on out.

Zach Randolph was able to score 18 points and grab 12 rebounds in this one for the Grizzlies, who ended up shooting 56 percent from the field for the game and 69.2 percent from the three-point line. Marc Gasol added 19 points, nine rebounds and also contributed with seven assists. Mike Conley scored 17 points and Courtney Lee added 16 in the win.

Lillard was easily the top performer of the game, scoring 32 points, including going 12-of-13 from the free throw line. LaMarcus Aldridge made just eight of his 23 field goal attempts in this one, but still finished the game with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Nicolas Batum added 15 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
