On Friday night, the Memphis Grizzlies will be going up against the Portland Trail Blazers in a game between two of the better defenses in the league. The Grizzlies won two out of their three games against the Blazers last year.

In their game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, the Grizzlies used a 34-point third quarter to help them come away with a 99-93 road win. They won that game despite on being able to make five of their 22 three-point attempts.

The Grizzlies are in the bottom half of the league in scoring, but they have only given up a little over 92 points per game. Power forward Zach Randolph is having another solid season by averaging 16.1 points and a team-high 11.6 rebounds per game. Center Marc Gasol leads the team in scoring right now with 19.8 points per game.

On Wednesday night, the Blazers held the Charlotte Hornets to just 41 points in the second half and rolled to a 105-97 road win. They didn't shoot the ball in that win, but they only ended up turning the ball over eight times.

So far this year, the Blazers are in the top 10 in the league in scoring, rebounding, assists and points allowed per game. Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge continues to be one of the better big men in the game by averaging 21.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
