On Nov. 30, the Brooklyn Nets visited the Memphis Grizzlies. Joe Johnson led the way as the Nets were able to get the win by a score of 97-88. Johnson finished the game with 26 points, five rebounds, six assists and a block.
The Nets were coming off a two game skid and were desperate to get back in the win column. Even with Johnson getting the headlines, it really was a team effort with big contributions from Brook Lopez and Andray Blatche. Johnson started the scoring off in this game with 16 points in the first quarter. Blatche came in off the bench and contributed 21 points and going 3-3 from behind the arc. The finishing act was performed by Lopez who scored 12 of his 20 points in the final quarter. Memphis had pulled to within one point in the fourth before Brooklyn started feeding Lopez in the post.
Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 16 points, one rebound, 10 assists and a steal. Other notable Memphis performances were Tony Allen with 13 points and Quincy Pondexter with a career high 22 points.
Now March has come along and Memphis will be looking to get even on the season. These two teams have gone back and fourth over their last 10 games against each other going 5-5. However, Brooklyn has a slight edge against the spread going 6-4 when matching up against Memphis. Brooklyn has kept up their winning ways ATS over their last 10 games going 7-3 and covering in three straight. Memphis has also been playing well ATS as of late. The Grizzlies are 5-5 over their last 10 games but have covered in three straight.
