The Los Angeles Lakers weren't able to handle Kevin Love the last time they played the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game they ended up losing 109-99 on the road in early February. The Timberwolves got off to a great start by outscoring the Lakers 38-26 in the first quarter and never lost the lead after that.

Love had another fantastic game, scoring 31 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in the contest. There was a scary moment for the Timberwolves and their fans, though, when Love hit the floor hard late in the fourth quarter. His head seemed to snap back a bit, but he ended up being okay.

Kevin Martin was also great for the Wolves, making 13 of his 26 field goal attempts on his way to a 32-point scoring night. Ricky Rubio added 13 assists in the win, which gave Minnesota a .500 record on the season.

Steve Nash returned from injury in this game and had seven points and nine assists in the loss. Nick Young led the Lakers in scoring with 24 points off the bench, but he shot just 4-for-12 from the field in this one. Third-year point guard Manny Harris also came off of the bench and scored 19 points in just 21 minutes on the floor.

The Timberwolves were able to get the win despite missing their starting center Nikola Pekovic, who was out with a bruised right knee.
