The Lakers will travel to Golden State, on Saturday, to take on the Warriors. The Lakers have a win-percentage below 500 so far this season. Julius Randle, a promising young Laker, broke his leg in the first game of the season and will not return to the court this year. Against the Suns, the Lakers could not match their shooting rate, nor could they match the Suns shooting percentage. The Houston Rockets defeated the Lakers with better 3-point shooting and teamwork that resulted in 22 assists. As a team the Lakers simply have to improve their shooting. They have 7 players, with significant playing time, shooting less then 35% and only 3 players shooting over 45%. Though Kobe is their leading scorer, he is not among the top 3 shooting percentages. The Lakers have an opportunity to improve on their last performances and beat this young team, the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors are 1 – 0 with a victory over the Kings. The team shot decent from the field. Fortunately for the Warriors the Kings had a terrible shooting night. As the Warriors face teams that perform better on the offensive end, they will need to step up their offensive production. This season, Marreese Speights is the only Warrior that has proven to be an offensive threat on the block. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are putting points on the board, but their 3-point shooting must improve. The Warriors could benefit from more offensive production from their bench. Andre Iguodala logged 30 minutes in Wednesday’s game, but only scored 2 points. The Laker vs. Warriors matchup could go either way. On Saturday NBA fans will see which team wants this win more.
