The Los Angeles Lakers will attempt to improve upon their poor 5-11 road record on Tuesday night when they face the Denver Nuggets. The first time these teams met this season, the Nuggets were able to pull off a 101-94 overtime win in Los Angeles.

In their game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night, the Lakers played poor defense and ended up losing 116-107 on their home court. They turned the ball over 17 times in that loss and allowed the Suns to make 50.6 percent of their shots.

So far this season, the Lakers have just nine wins and are giving up just under 110 points per game. In his first year in Los Angeles, veteran power forward Carlos Boozer has made 52.1 percent of his field goal attempts and is averaging 15.2 points with 7.3 rebounds per game.

The Nuggets have now lost three out of their last four games after the Toronto Raptors beat them 116-102 in Denver on Sunday night. They made just four of their 17 three-pointers in that loss and finished with a low 42.5 field goal percentage.

Through 31 games this season, the Nuggets are near the top of the league in rebounding, but they are in the bottom 10 in points allowed. Point guard Ty Lawson has been one of their better players by averaging 16.2 points, 10.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Power forward Kenneth Faried has made 51.4 percent of his shots this season and is averaging 11.8 points per game.
