The Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder may have been the second and third seeds in the West, respectively, but they both struggled a bit in their first round series and needed seven games to advance.

The Clippers' series with the Golden State Warriors was all over the place. Some of the games were close, while both teams also had blowout wins. In the seventh and final game, The Clippers were able to win a close, high-scoring game 126-121 to move on.

The Clips were led by All-Star Blake Griffin and his 23.3 points per game and his 6.3 rebounds. Point guard Chris Paul averaged 19.1 points, 10.7 assists and 2.5 assists in the series, while center DeAndre Jordan averaged a double-double with 12.1 points and 15.1 rebounds per game.

The Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies played one of the better series in the first round, with four of the games requiring overtime. The Thunder went down big in the seventh and final game, but they came back and ended up winning 120-109.

Kevin Durant didn't start well in the playoffs, but he was clutch near the end of the first round series and ended up averaging 29.9 points and 9.6 rebounds in the seven games. Russell Westbrook didn't shoot particularly well in the series, but he did end up averaging 25.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
