The Los Angeles Clippers will be visiting the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Monday, March 17 for the third time this season. In their last meeting in February, the Nuggets escaped with a 116-115 victory behind the play of Kenneth Faried who had 28 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, a steal and two blocks. Randy Foye added 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a steal and two blocks.
However, Foye's play at the end of the game is what made him the most important player on the night. Matt Barnes gave the Clippers the lead with just over six seconds left in the game by hitting a 3-pointer and making the score 115-113. The Nuggets called a timeout. J.J. Hickson was the recipient of the ball from out of bounds. He tried to get the ball to Wilson Chandler in the lane to tie the game up but the Clippers collapsed on the lane making this an impossibility. He was able to kick the ball out to Randy Foye who knocked down the 3-pointer for the win. Ty Lawson added 27 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. J.J. Hickson added 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block.
The Clippers looked like the team to beat in this one behind Blake Griffin. Griffin finished this game with 36 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and a steal. The Clippers had a 13 point lead in the first half and had a lead going into the final seconds but just couldn't hold on. DeAndre Jordan added 19 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in the losing effort.
