On Thursday night, the Indiana Pacers will go on the road to face the Portland Trail Blazers in a game between two of the better defenses in the NBA. Last season, the Pacers and the Blazers split their two-game regular season series.

The Pacers were outscored 33-20 in the fourth quarter of their game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night and lost 116-99. Indiana had a hard time taking care of the ball in that loss, turning it over 19 times.

Through 18 games, Indiana has one of the best defenses in the NBA by giving up just 96.4 points per game to their opponents. Center Roy Hibbert has been their most efficient player by averaging 13.2 points, eight rebounds and 2.71 blocks per game. Point guard Rodney Stuckey has scored 12.4 points per game in just 21.6 minutes per game.

On Tuesday, the Blazers won their second straight game when they edged the Denver Nuggets 105-103 on the road. They only made five of their 22 three-point attempts in that win, but they shot 50 percent overall from the field.

The Blazers currently have the best rebounding team in the league by pulling down 47.4 boards per game. Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge has an excellent 23.1 PER so far this season by scoring 22.4 points per game and bringing down 9.6 rebounds per game.
