The Indiana Pacers improved to eight straight wins when they handed the Memphis Grizzlies a brutal beating the last time they played. The win of 95-79 helped keep the Pacers perfect on the season and ended a seven-day road trip where they played five games.
Help came for the Pacers from Paul George, who had 23 points. Lance Stephenson, who is playing the best basketball of his career, had his first career triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists and only 1 turnover. George Hill was playing in his third game since returning from a hip injury and he had 13 points while Luis Scola added 12 points from the bench. Roy Hibbert blocked five more shots, adding to his league leading 35 at the time. The Pacers out-rebounded the Grizzlies 45-32. Their defense was no match for Memphis, as they held them to a season low point total, nearly 20 points below the Grizzlies average of 98.5.
It was a 15-3 run by the Pacers that put the Grizzlies down in the fourth that they just could not return from. They were just 41 percent from the field but were 6-of-9 from 3-point range. Marc Gasol was able to put 15 points up for the Grizzlies and Zach Randolph put up 12.
