The Dallas Mavericks matched up with the Indiana Pacers on Feb. 12 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. On this night, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Pacers at their own game by holding them to a season worst 32.1 percent from the field and ended up winning 81-73. It was just the third loss at home for the Pacers and they knew the Mavericks had their number.

Paul George had a good 2nd half, giving the Pacers their first lead of the half. Indiana had built the lead up to five before the Mavericks made a run of their own. In the fourth quarter, Monta Ellis and the Mavericks outscored the Pacers 22-11 and took a 66-62 lead with just under seven minutes to go. They ended up holding onto the lead for the rest of the game. The defense was the story of the game and it allowed Dallas to escape with a tough road win.

Monta Ellis led the Mavericks with 23 points, nine rebounds, six assists, a steal, and two blocks. Dirk Nowitzki contributed 18 points, six rebounds, an assist, 2 steals and a block. Vince Carter also added 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

The Pacers were led by George who had 12 points, seven rebounds and two assists, while David West added 12 points, five rebounds and six assists.

Dallas has been better in the head-to-head matchup over the last 10 games, winning six of 10 straight up. However, the Pacers have won three of the last four meetings and have covered in five of the last six matchups.

That being said, Indiana has been awful against the spread over the last month. Whether playing at home or on the road, the Pacers just haven't been covering.

Dallas has been only slightly better over the last month and have been hovering around .500 ATS during that time.
