Many thought that the Atlanta Hawks would struggle to get one win against the Indiana Pacers, but with their 98-85 home win in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, they now have a 2-1 lead in the series.

Neither team shot particularly well in the game, with the Pacers shooting just 37.6% and the Hawks shooting 38.4%. The Hawks were able to make 12 of their 34 threes, though, while the Pacers made just five of their 20 attempts. The game was close until the Hawks were able to outscore the Pacers by eight points in the third quarter. They continued to hit their shots in the fourth quarter and that was enough to help them hold on for the win.

Jeff Teague may have only shot 7-for-20 in the game, but he was certainly his team's best player as he posted 22 points and 10 assists in the win. Shooting guard Kyle Korver also had a solid game, making four of his seven three-point attempts and scoring 20 points. Paul Millsap put up a double-double for the hosts, scoring 14 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Lance Stephenson had a very good game for the Pacers by scoring 21 points and bringing down 13 rebounds. All-Star Paul George added a double-double for the visitors by scoring 12 points and adding 14 rebounds.
