The Indiana Pacers looked much more like the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday when they were able to beat the Atlanta Hawks 101-85 on their home court to make it a 1-1 series. The Pacers shot 52.9% on the night and were able to hold the Hawks to just 39.2% shooting from the field.

In the first quarter, the Hawks looked like they may eventually take a 2-0 lead in the series as they were able to outscore the Pacers 26-21 and looked like the better team. The Pacers played much better in the second period, but they still went into the half down by four points. The third period is when the Pacers took over, outscoring the Hawks 31-13 by playing great on both ends of the floor. Indiana focused on defense in the fourth quarter and were able to hold on for the 16-point victory.

Paul George stepped up and looked like Pacers' best player by scoring 27 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out six assists and also notching four steals. Luis Scola was solid off of the bench for the Pacers, scoring 20 points and pulling down seven rebounds.

Paul Millsap was the Hawks' top performer in the losing effort, scoring 19 on 6-of-12 shooting. Point guard Jeff Teague had 14 points, four assists and five rebounds, while reserve power forward Mike Scott pitched in with 11 points.
