The last time the Orlando Magic faced the Houston Rockets, the Magic were defeated 98-88. Behind James Harden's 27 point, eight rebound and 10 assist performance, the Rockets were able to hold on. Dwight Howard also had a big game against his former team by adding 20 points and 22 rebounds.
The game was close for most of the first half until Houston was able to pull away for good in the third quarter by going up by as many as 22. A big factor in this game was the difference in rebounding. The Rockets out-rebounded the Magic 60-43. If the Magic hadn't shot so badly from the field (34.4 percent), they may have had a shot. Houston had 18 turnovers in this game compared to Orlando's 7 but it wasn't enough for the Magic.
Orlando has lost three straight to Houston and are 5-5 versus the Rockets over their last 10. However, Orlando has covered in eight straight games when playing Houston. When looking at Orlando's last 10 games, they haven't fared against the spread quite as well. In that time period, the Magic have only beaten the spread four times with three of those wins coming at home.
Houston is 5-5 over their last 10 games ATS. Four of those wins have come away from home. However, they haven't been able to cover in their last two games. So neither team has been great ATS, but the Magic have been playing better as of late. In addition, Orlando has played great ATS when playing Houston.
