The Golden State Warriors were able to overcome a rough start to their Game 1 battle with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday afternoon to pull off the 109-105 road win. Klay Thompson starred for the Warriors on the offensive end and also did a fine job of keeping Clippers' star point guard Chris Paul from taking over the game.

The Warriors didn't make a shot until their eighth field goal attempt of the game and went down by as much as 11 points early on in the game. They were able to compose themselves before the game got out of hand, though, and went into the half tied with the Clippers. They took an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter and were able to hold off the Clippers the rest of the way.

Thompson finished the game with a team-high 22 points and also had seven rebounds and five assists in the win. Power forward David Lee had a solid game by putting up 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. All-Star Stephen Curry didn't have his best shooting night in this one, but he did end up with 14 points and seven assists.

Chris Paul ended up with a game-high 28 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in the losing effort. Center DeAndre Jordan had a double-double in the game with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while shooting guard J.J. Redick shot 4-for-5 from three-point range and scored 22 points.
