Saturday afternoon, the Golden State Warriors will visit the Dallas Mavericks.

The Golden State Warriors have already shown that they may be the team to beat this season. The Warriors won their 14th straight game on Wednesday night as they defeated the Houston Rockets 105 – 93.  A slow start by the Warriors allowed the Rockets to take a 7 point lead after the 1st quarter but the game got tighter as the night went on.  Houston tried to keep up with Golden State but eventually they just ran out of steam.  It was the 2nd time that the Rockets fell to the Warriors this season but the teams will meet 2 more times this season and they could see each other come postseason time.  Saturday, the Warriors will face a Dallas team that could also be around when the postseason starts.

The Dallas Mavericks faced more of a challenge Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans than they expected but Dallas still came away with a 112 – 107 victory.  The Mavericks opened up a 10 point lead after the 1st quarter but the Pelicans stormed back to lead by 4 at the half.  Dallas took control in the 2nd half and managed to hold off a New Orleans rally to seal the win.  Dallas will need to play just as hard on Saturday as they face the best team in the NBA for the 1st of 4 meetings this season.
