Trey Burke returned to his hometown the last time the Utah Jazz played the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons are one of the many teams in the Eastern Conference that are having horrible seasons. The Jazz had no problem handing the Pistons a disappointing loss of 110-89 even though they are having an even worse season than Detroit.

Burke led the Jazz with 20 points and a career high 12 assists. He started out slowly but eventually outplayed his counterpart, Brandon Jennings throughout the game. Burke led the Michigan Wolverines to the National Championship game last year and was the National Player of the Year. Last year’s performance led to him having a lot of supporters in the stands. The Pistons had a chance to take Burke as the No. 8 pick in the draft, but instead went with center Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Pope scored just five points in the whole game.

Jennings had 11 points for the Pistons, Andre Drummond had 10 points and 13 rebounds, and Rodney Stuckey came off the bench to score 21 points, almost double what any single starter scored. Kyle Singler also came off the bench to score 13 points. The Jazz found help from the likes of Enes Kanter, who added 18 points, and Marvin Williams, who scored 17 points. Utah's lead mounted to 29 points in the fourth. The Detroit front line of Drummond, Greg Monroe, and Josh Smith could only put together a combined 18 points on 5-of-18 shooting. Smith and Monroe only made one field goal apiece in the entire game.
