The Oklahoma City Thunder did what they were expected to do in their early-season matchup against the Detroit Pistons when they came away with the 119-110 road win. The Thunder had foul issues throughout the game, but their star and their bench were able to help them pull off the victory.

Kevin Durant once against showed why he is an MVP contender by putting up 37 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and 17-of-19 from the free throw line. He was also able to grab eight rebounds and seven assists for a solid all-around game.

Steven Adams came off of the bench for the Thunder to contribute 17 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Point guard Russell Westbrook made just five of his 19 field goal attempts, but he did score 20 points and dished out five assists.

Josh Smith had a pretty good game for the Pistons, scoring 20 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and blocking three shots. Point guard Brandon Jennings also had a double-double by posting 22 points and 11 assists. No one on the Pistons' bench scored more than eight points.

In Wednesday's matchup, the Pistons' 27th ranked defense will probably have a tough time handling Oklahoma City's top five offense. The Thunder have locked up home court advantage in the Western Conference, while the Pistons have already been eliminated in the East.
