The Eastern Conference will clash with the Western Conference on Wednesday night in the opener for both teams in the National Basketball Association. The Detroit Pistons will take on the Denver Nuggets in the Mile High City. The Detroit Pistons wrapped up a season ago with 29 wins, which was 11th in the Eastern Conference. For Denver, they went 36-46, also 11th in the Western Conference.

The Detroit Pistons had a nice pre-season, winning 5 out of 7 games. In the finale against Philadelphia Kyle Singler led with 19 points, while Josh Smith added 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Pistons will look for big things from their big man Andre Drummond. The center scored 13.5 points per game last season. Detroit will play their first two games of the season on the road. Following this trip to Denver, they will make a stop in Minnesota and take on the Timberwolves on Thursday.

For the Denver Nuggets, they know there is an opening in the Northwest Division with Kevin Durant missing a bunch of time for Oklahoma City. The Nuggets won just two pre-season games; over Oklahoma City and the Clippers. The Nuggets starting lineup appears to be up in the air, but look for guys like Aaron Affalo, Erick Green, Ty Lawson and Randy Foye to be in the mix at the guard position.
