Detroit has put themselves in a hole with poor play lately that has all but assured that they'll miss the Eastern Conference playoffs for the 5th straight year. Denver finds themselves in a similar situation – not good enough for the playoffs but not horrible enough for lottery pick. Detroit's free fall into obscurity came at a pretty inopportune time as they were battling to overtake Atlanta for the 8th spot in the playoffs.
