The Detroit Pistons played the Boston Celtics in the TD Garden on Dec. 18. This was the last time these two teams met and the Pistons were able to get away with a tight win that went down to the final seconds and ended up winning 107-106.

Boston had two opportunities to take the lead with 13 seconds left in the game. Eight seconds were wasted when Brandon Bass dribbled the time away before Brad Stevens called a timeout. Coming out of the timeout, Jeff Green drove at Josh Smith and threw up a contested layup which failed to drop.

It wasn't as if Boston didn't have more opportunities to take control of this game. The Celtics scored 42 points in the first quarter alone and 63 for the half compared to Detroit's 52. Then the Pistons put the clamps on in the second half. Boston scored just 18 points in the third quarter and only 43 for the half.

Brandon Jennings led the charge by hitting 9-of-21 for 28 points and adding four rebounds, 14 assists and a steal. Josh Smith added 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and four steals while Andre Drummond contributed 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Boston was led by Jared Sullinger with 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal. They also got 17 points out of Jordan Crawford. Avery Bradley tallied 14 points and Jeff Green had 13 points.

Over the last 10 meetings between the Pistons and the Celtics, Detroit is 8-2 against the spread and have covered in seven straight against Boston. If there is a bright spot it's that the two wins ATS were at home for Boston. However, these two were in 2011. The 'under' is 6-4 over these last 10 meetings as well.

Detroit has covered at about a 50 percent clip over the last month but have been better since the end of February.

Boston has hung around .500 ATS and have not played well straight up over the last month.
