The Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings will play their second of back-to-back games on Wednesday night, this time at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. After the Nuggets won their opener, they were smoked on the road Saturday at Oklahoma City. The Kings were able to go into the Staples Center on Sunday and down the Los Angeles Clippers behind 34 points and 17 rebounds from DeMarcus Cousins.
The Sacramento Kings are ranked 2nd in the NBA with 48.3 rebounds per game. Cousins, the former Kentucky Wildcats star, is averaging 12.7 per game. Cousins also leads in other categories such as assists (6.7) and blocked shots (1.7). The Kings have watched their guard Rudy Gay average 36 minutes per game and score nearly 27 points per game. Sacramento also is getting 14.7 points per game out of Darren Collison.
For Denver, they have been solid on the defensive end. The Nuggets rank fourth in points allowed with 90.5 per game. In the loss to the Clippers, point guard Ty Lawson played in 35 minutes and scored 25 points on 8-12 shooting. The Nuggets played 12 guys in the game, and saw their top two rebounders come off the bench. Both Alonzo Gee and Wilson Chandler led the way with 7 in the win.
