The Denver Nuggets suffered an eight game losing streak before turning it around with a three game winning streak heading into the game when they last played the Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma City took an unexpected beating from the Nuggets when they were handed a 101-88 loss.

Randy Foye had a season high 24 points including six 3-pointers that helped the Nuggets extend to a four game winning streak at the time. Foye had been playing quite well for the Nuggets and this was his second game in a row where he hit a season high. He was coming off of a 23 point game where he hit seven 3-pointers in a Denver victory over the Boston Celtics. Also helping take down the very dangerous Kevin Durant and his Thunder were Quincy Miller, who started for the first time in his career in place of an injured Wilson Chandler. Miller had nine points, Evan Fournier had 19 points, including four 3-pointers, and Ty Lawson contributed 16 points and 14 assists. Kenneth Faried grabbed 14 boards as well for Denver.

Kevin Durant put up 30 points, while Reggie Jackson added 13 points, and Derek Fisher had 12 for the Thunder. Oklahoma City missed their first 10 3-pointers before Durant and Jackson finally found their mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Nuggets outscored the Thunder 29-15 in the third to build a 23-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, and despite the comeback effort, Oklahoma City never was able to regain any momentum.
