On Monday night, the Denver Nuggets will try to improve upon their poor 4-9 road record when they visit the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte was able to win both of their games against the Nuggets last season.

On Saturday night, the Nuggets played in a defensive battle with the Indiana Pacers and came away with a 76-73 home win. They won despite making just 36.6 percent of their shots and finishing with 16 turnovers.

The Nuggets are currently one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA by grabbing over 45 boards per game. Point guard Ty Lawson has been one of their more consistent players this season by averaging 15.2 points and 10.7 assists per game. Center Timofey Mozgov is currently the team's top rebounder by grabbing 8.1 rebounds per game.

On Saturday night, the Hornets held the Utah Jazz to just 39 first-half points and rolled to a 104-86 home win. They had just five turnovers in that win and ended up making 48.3 percent of their shot attempts.

Even with that win over the Jazz, the Hornets still have one the lowest scoring offenses in the Eastern Conference. Veteran big man Al Jefferson has been their top performer by averaging 19.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has scored 9.2 points per game and has made 49.4 percent of his field goal attempts.
