The Dallas Mavericks found their shooting touch the last time they played the Utah Jazz and used it to pull off the 108-101 road win. The Mavs shot 53.2% from the field on the night and made 13 of their 21 field goal attempts. The Jazz made nearly 60% of their two-point field goals, but only made five of their 26 three-point attempts in the loss.

The Mavs were up by just two points with under four minutes remaining, but they scored 11 of the game's next 14 points to pull of the win. Shooting guard Monta Ellis scored five of those 11 points, while Nowitzki and Jose Calderon hit three-pointers to seal the win.

The Mavericks played well as a team, but can thank star power forward Dirk Nowitzki the most for helping them get the win. Nowitzki made 12 of his 14 shots and finished the game with 31 points and eight rebounds. Those points helped Nowitzki move past John Havlicek into 12th on the all time NBA scoring list.

Monta Ellis also had a very good night for the Mavs, scoring 16 points, getting 11 assists, and pulling down seven rebounds for the near triple-double. Backup point guard Devin Harris came off of the bench for Dallas to score 12 points.

Utah's rookie point guard Trey Burke had one of his better games of his first season in the league, scoring 20 points and dishing out eight assists. Enes Kanter added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
