The Dallas Mavericks, who are currently the top scoring team in the NBA, will go on the road on Thursday to take on the Portland Blazers. The Mavs were able to beat the Blazers in two out of their three games against each other last season.

On Monday, the Mavericks won their third game in a row when they defeated the Boston Celtics 118-113 at home. They shot 53.7 percent from the field in that win while also making 14 out of their 15 three-point attempts.

Through four games, the Mavs are averaging 11.8 points per game and they are in the top 10 in the league in assists with 22.8 per game. Veteran Dirk Nowitzki has been able to score 20.8 points per game while grabbing 5.5 rebounds per game. Monta Ellis is averaging 17.8 points per game and he leads the team in assists with 5.3 per game.

On Tuesday night, the Blazers moved into first place in the Northwest after blowing out the Cleveland Cavaliers 101-82 at home. They held the Cavs to just 36.5 percent shooting from the floor in that win while outrebounding the, 48-41.

The Blazers have a top five defense right now after giving up just 92.3 points per game in their first four games. All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge has been solid by averaging 22.8 points per game with six rebounds per game. Guard Damian Lillard has averaged 17 points, 4.8 assists and 5.3 rebounds so far this season.
