On Saturday night, the Dallas Mavericks will visit the New Orleans Pelicans in an early Southwest Division matchup. The Mavericks were able to win all four of their games against the Pelicans during the 2013-14 season.

The Mavericks had a great offensive game against the Utah Jazz on Thursday and won 120-102 at home for their first victory of the season. They shot over 55 percent from the field in that game and they only turned the ball over nine times.

Through two games, shooting guard Monta Ellis has scored 20 points per game for the Mavs while also dishing out six assists per game. Veteran power forward Dirk Nowitzki has been able to average 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 67 percent from the field.

In their opening games of the season on Tuesday night, the Pelicans were able to dominate the Orlando Magic, coming away with a 101-84 win. They had 62 team rebounds in that win and they were able to hold the Magic to just 38.1 percent shooting from the field.

New Orleans' best player in that opening game was power forward Anthony Davis, who had 26 points, 17 rebounds and nine blocks. Center Omer Asik had 14 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks in the win, while Ryan Anderson came off of the bench to score 22 points and grab nine boards.
