The Dallas Mavericks last saw the Los Angeles Lakers back in the beginning of January when they were able to cruise to a 110-97 home win. Dallas was able to use good shooting from inside the three-point line and solid defense to beat the Kobe Bryant-less Lakers.

The Mavs did not shoot the ball from three-point land very well in the game, but they made sure to knock down all of their close and mid-range shots to keep themselves in the lead for the majority of the game. They also played lock-down defense all night, making 17 steals on the night and forcing the Lakers into 19 turnovers. The Lakers shot 31 three-pointers in the game to try to keep up with the Mavs and were able to make 11 of them.

Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki had a typical solid performance, scoring 27 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the win. Point guard Jose Calderon also had a good game, dishing out eight assists and getting five steals to go along with his 12 points. DeJuan Blair went 7-for-10 to score 15 points.

Pau Gasol did his best to keep the Lakers in the game, scoring 15 points and grabbing 13 boards in the losing effort. Jodie Meeks scored 24-points for the home side, but he made just six of his 16 field goal attempts in the game.
