The Cleveland Cavaliers were able to extend their longest winning streak of the season the last time they played the Detroit Pistons in a 93-89 away victory. Kyrie Irving made a late 3-pointer with just under 30 seconds remaining to seal the win for the visitors in what was a close game throughout.

Cleveland power forward Tristan Thompson had the tough task of guarding both Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe throughout the game, but handled himself quite well. The third-year forward finished the game with 25 points, 15 rebounds and zero turnovers. His best work came in the Cavs' big fourth quarter where he scored 14 points and helped Cleveland erase a double digit deficit.

Drummond had a good game for the Pistons, scoring 16 points and pulling down 17 rebounds in the loss. Josh Smith finished the contest with 18 points and 10 boards.

It was obvious from the beginning that Cleveland's strategy was to try to stop the Pistons from scoring inside. This gave Detroit point guard Brandon Jennings the chance to have a big game, but he happened to have one of his coldest shooting nights of the season. He went 3-for-14 from the field and scored just 9 points for the Pistons.

The win gave the Cavs a four game winning streak, which was the longest streak since back in 2010 when LeBron James was still on the team.
