Charlotte can see the Eastern Conference playoffs in their sight but if they don't right their recent ship they might find themselves once again on the outside looking in. After winning 4 straight and 3 of 4 against the spread, the Bobcats dropped 3 in a row both straight up and ATS before a game against Indiana. Their game Friday against Cleveland is the first end of a back and back before they travel to Memphis on Saturday night.
One of those teams set to steal the Bobcats playoff spot is the Cavaliers. Cleveland themselves has lost 5 of 7 but will be well rested before their matchup against Charlotte, having had three days to contemplate their losing streak. It should be noted that the two wins during that time came in their last 3 games with SU and ATS victories in OKC and at home against Utah.
This marks the 3rd meeting of the season between Cleveland and Charlotte with the Cavs dropping both previous matchups. Both early season matchups were low scoring affairs, an 86-80 Charlotte victory on November 15th and a 94-80 Bobcat win the second game of the season. The collective field goal percentages of those games was 40.5, 40, 38.1 and 45.2 and both were solid under plays.
Even though there weren't many points put up, the key for Charlotte on their personal two game win streak against Cleveland has been a balanced scoring attack. In the last meeting 5 Bobcats went into double figures while Kyrie Irving bulked most of the Cavalier attack. The teams matched up pretty evenly in total rebounds (53-49) and fast break points (11-10) and both squads held double digit leads at one point in the game.
