The Washington Wizards were able to take care of the Chicago Bulls at home 96-93 the last time they played. The win helped Washington move to .500 on the season and a bit closer to their first winning record since 2009. The Wizards were able to take a 54-50 lead into the half thanks in large part to shooting over 68% from the field in the first half.
Chicago charged back in the second half, though, to make it a back-and-forth game deep into the final quarter. Washington used its good defense to hold the Bulls to just one made field goal in the final five minutes to pull off the win. The Wizards made six of their 11 three-pointers in the game, while the Bulls made just nine of their 24 attempts.
Wizards star point guard John Wall had a great game for the hosts, scoring 23 points and dishing out 11 assists in the win. Center Marcin Gortat had three blocks and six boards to go along with his 13 points. Trevor Booker came off of the bench for the Wizards to score 12 points and bring down seven rebounds.
Veteran guard Kirk Hinrich was the Bulls' top performer in the game, putting up 18 points, five assists and five rebounds in the losing effort. Backup shooting guard D.J. Augustin scored 16 points off of the bench for Chicago.
