The Chicago Bulls will take on the Timberwolves at Minnesota on Saturday. In their previous match-ups the Bulls have shown the ability to work the ball inside to their big men. Power Forwards Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson have provided the bulk of the scoring for the Bulls offense. The more points the Chicago big men can produce the better it is for Rose. There is no doubt Derrick Rose has dominant talent over other guards, but his high scoring games come at a price. Rose is known for penetrating the lane and attacking the basket ferociously, which is a fantastic trait. However, when this strategy is over used it can take a toll on the guard’s body.

Minnesota sits at 1 - 1 so far this season. In their loss, the Timberwolves turned the ball over 23 times. Of those turnovers, point guard Ricky Rubio was responsible for 7. In the victory over the Pistons they turned the ball over less than half as many times. Point Guard Ricky Rubio only turned the ball over once in that game. Rubio is splitting time with veteran Point Guard Mo Williams. Williams should be a great benefit to Rubio’s development.

Thaddeus Young is the major scoring threat for the Timberwolves. So far he has also had major contributions on the defensive end, grabbing rebounds and forcing turnovers. There are not many players on this roster committed to shooting 3-pointers. It could become difficult to spread defenses without outside threats.
