When the Detroit Pistons visited the Chicago Bulls on December 7th, the Bulls were a completely different team. Derrick Rose and Luol Deng were both out, but the Bulls hadn't learned how to play without them. The big men for the Pistons along with Brandon Jennings were too much for the Bulls on that night. Jennings led the way with 33 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds. Andre Drummond, Josh Smith, and Greg Monroe all tallied double digit rebounds as the Pistons outrebounded Chicago 51-44. It was Detroit's first victory in Chicago since Feb. 24, 2006. The Pistons had lost 14 in a row at the United Center. Taj Gibson led the Bulls with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Carlos Boozer tallied 13 points. The game got a little chippy as Joakim Noah and Gibson were both whistled for technical fouls. Detroit went 6 for 8 from 3-point range in the first half to make up for an inability to finish inside. The Pistons failed to convert a bunch of opportunities under the rim but the game was tied at 47 at halftime. They then dominated in the 2nd half as the undermanned Bulls couldn't compete on the boards with the big forwards from Detroit.
As of this writing Chicago is 30-28 against the spread this year. They are 16-15 on the road ATS while the Pistons are 13-18 ATS at home. The Over/Under for this game may be something to watch. The Bulls are 24-35 this year when it comes to the O/U while the Pistons are 42-17.
