The last time these two teams met was on January 7th in Charlotte and the Washington Wizards ran away with the game after the 3rd quarter.  The leading scorer for the Bobcats in the last matchup was Gerald Henderson, but his 28 points were not enough to stop John Wall and the Wizards from outscoring them in the second half.  John Wall led his team with 8 assists during the game, and he also scored 17 points.

One of his assists included a clutch alley-oop to his teammate which started the Wizards 3rd quarter run.  The Wizards would go onto score 17 unanswered points against the Bobcats.  Charlotte's biggest mistakes came on three turnovers which were committed late in the game, and which left Charlotte no way to get back into the contest.  The Wizards took full advantage of the Bobcats turnovers and never allowed the them to get back into the game.

Charlotte managed to break a 5 game losing streak against the Kings the week before playing the Wizards, but after their loss at home against the Wizards on Jan 7th the Bobcats went on another 3 game slide.  The Wizards are having a surprisingly good season, considering they haven’t finished above .500 in the last four years, and are twelve games behind their conference leader.
