On Saturday March 15, the Brooklyn Nets will visit the Washington Wizards. The Nets will be looking to get even with the Wizards after being defeated in Washington DC by the Wizards 113-107. John Wall won the point guard matchup against Deron Williams in a game where Wall came up with play after play. Wall's block on Williams late in the fourth quarter was a huge play and pushed the Wizards on to victory. Wall had 21 points, four rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block in this game.
Washington was on fire from deep and hit seven of their first nine from 3-point range and built an 11 point lead early on. However, the Nets were only down one at the end of the first quarter. By halftime, the Wizards were up six points by a score of 59-53. Brooklyn shot the ball well but Washington's 3-point shooting gave them that lead.
In the second half, the Wizards had built a 12 point lead and with under five minutes to go, and Wall made some big plays. He first stole the ball from Williams and took it in for an easy layup. Williams then came back and hit a trey to bring the game to within one point before the Wizards stretched the lead back out. In the end, Williams went on a run of his own to bring the Nets to within five and then Wall blocked a shot of his and that was the end of the Nets run. Williams finished the game with 15 points, three rebounds, 13 assists, three steals and a block in the losing effort. Paul Pierce added 27 points, six rebounds and three assists.
The Wizards also got contributions from Nene with 17 points, Trevor Ariza with 15 points, and Bradley Beal with 15.
